Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
4. Gradually whisk in the milk, and cook until the mixture thickens and bubbles.
5. Remove from heat and stir in the cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
6. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni, then transfer to a baking dish.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the cheese sauce.
